Driving Test

There are many myths about the driving test. Examiners can only pass a certain percentage, examiner was in a bad mood, there was a lorry in my way, a dog ran out, it was raining etc. The list goes on.

In reality it only boils down to the way you drive. If you have been taught well and apply everything that you have been taught, plus any creative driving that might occur on your test, then ther is no reason why you would not pass.

A learner drivers perception on the test can be a lot different from the driving examiners. A good driving instructor will show you how to look at the way you drive from a safety aspect and consequently the examiners aspect.

Best tip of the day: Drive for yourself the way you have been taught and never drive to please the examiner. When you are waiting to go onto a roundabout, think for yourself and not what you think is expected of you. It’s impossible whilst dealing with a busy roundabout to think for two people, you and your examiner.

Perfect driving is not expected on the test, but the ability to ‘fix it’ is a great asset.

The national driving test pass rate is 43%. To raise this to a better standard we need to have learner drivers who are better drivers, not more lenient examiners. Continue reading

Hello world!

Hello world,  this my first post.

After the Arctic blast we all suffered in the UK, mainly Scotland November 2010, hopefully we can get back to a normal British winter!

The holes in the road are deeper, there is a lot of salt and grit, making it impossible to keep your car clean, insurance premiums and fuel costs are at an all time high. VAT is never going to come down, according to the government. Unemployment is at an all time high and benefits are being stopped if you can’t find work after a few months.

The government is cutting anything and everything that it can find.

Now here is the question, if you survive this depressive situation, how are you going to grow, how is the country going to grow? Answer, don’t look at all of the situations I described above as a means of your focus. Look at them as news items of interest and keep your focus on what you personally have to do to make your life work.

By staying focused on your own personal solutions and not the negativity of a useless government, you can create your own life. The weather you can do nothing about. Weather is weather. Governments can be disposed of though as you have seen in Egypt, China, Tunisia, Russia. So roll on election time, but before then we really do need a better political party than anything we have at the moment.
